Drama Class with Sensory Experience – 6-18 months: 45 minute class, 10-10.45am, at Wonford Community and Learning Centre. 4th, 18th and 25th October 2021.

During this in person, 45 minute class, we will sing some familiar nursery rhymes with actions! We will sing some Playsongs, read a story book, then do drama activities based on the story with sensory experience element. This includes percussion instruments, a scarf and other fabric/materials, finger puppets and fibre optic lights. We will then sing some calming nursery rhymes to bring the class to a close.

The focus of the class is to build confidence, self esteem, resilience, emotional intelligence, and communication through nursery rhymes, story telling, lights, scarves, role play, games and drama techniques. The overriding aim is to have lots of fun! Still weaving in an awareness of the Thrive Approach (outlined below). In all classes; you will be guided through the class by me, Felicity! And have the opportunity to make some special memories with your little ones!

Thrive : 6-18 months is the ‘Doing’ stage of development (relational/emotional), the key foci are: exploring safely; knowing body limits; experiencing doing, and learning about options. The adult takes the role of co-adventurer.
