Exeter City Deaf Teams
Exeter City Deaf Teams
At Exeter CITY Community Trust we have four teams made up of Deaf people, these include two youth squads – under 12s and under 16s – and two adult teams.
Our teams get to compete at a national level, in 2019 our under 16s qualified for the final rounds of the national FA People’s Cup.
Training takes place at Exwick Sports Hub in Exeter, every Tuesday, from 5pm-7pm – supported by a BSL coach.
Within deaf-specific competitions, such as the English Deaf Football (EDF) League & Cup, all players must have a hearing loss of 55dB minimum in their better ear to qualify to play.
Deaf Football is played to the IFAB Laws of the Game in exactly the same way as with FIFA, with some modified competition rules.
