Charity Partners

Every two years, Exeter City Community Trust select charities to work with, supporting them through our events and programmes.

We are pleased to be working with Children’s Hospice South West, Alright Mate?, Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) and Julian House for 2022-2024.

Find out more about all four charity partners below.

Exeter Leukaemia Fund

Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) is a registered charity providing vital support to patients with blood cancer and serious blood disorders who attend the Haematology Centre at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (RD&E).

ELF built the existing Haematology Centre in 2003 and added a critical-care unit to the ward in 2017.  Today, as well as directly supporting the ward, our services for blood cancer patients include transport, counselling, financial support grants & legal advice, accommodation and therapy treatments.

Supporters taking place in ECCT running events have raised thousands of pounds for ELF in recent years. We would be delighted if you were to choose to run in support of blood cancer patients in Devon.

Julian House

Julian House is a charity that supports vulnerable and at-risk individuals. These include men, women and young people experiencing homelessness, men, women, and children escaping domestic abuse, adults with learning difficulties and people who need support after leaving prison.

We deliver projects including trainer tenancies for young people, supporting housing for ex-offenders, Bay6 for people at risk of being homeless after discharge from the hospital, Refugee Resettlement service and our Outreach teams across Exeter and Devon.

Join the Big Exeter Sleep-Out 2024!

Spending one cold night in Exeter’s St James’s Park couldn’t possibly come close to the stark reality of being homeless and sleeping on the streets. However, by taking part in this eye-opening challenge you will be raising funds so that Julian House can help to rebuild and save lives. Giving up just one night in your own bed really could give someone the chance for a better future.

Alright Mate?

Suicide is the biggest cause of death in men under 50. In England alone, that equates to 12 deaths every single day. Sadly due to social stigma, many men feel unable to seek help for their mental health before they reach a crisis point.

Alright Mate? CIC wants to get everyone talking about male mental health so that no one needs to ever struggle alone. We do this by making audio installations, books and plays, all based on real and relatable stories. We work directly with diverse communities including veterans, construction workers and new dads.

Their work has been shown in places including barbershops, gyms and building sites. They’re making male mental health matter. One conversation at a time.

There are lots of ways people can support CHSW and every penny raised will help the charity continue to care for very poorly children and families.
