Together – Supporting Communities

The EFL has today launched ‘Together – Supporting Communities’ an initiative to support the communities and fans of the 72 League Clubs during the cost-of-living crisis. The scheme will see EFL Clubs provide community services and matchday offers to help people in challenging economic times and will contribute towards the Government’s ‘Help for Households’ initiative.

In rapid response, EFL Clubs and their respective Club Community Organisations (CCOs) have already rolled out a variety of support to those hit the hardest and at Exeter City Community Trust we have already implemented a host of activities to help those within our Community.

Holiday Activities and Food Programme

This Christmas we will be returning to Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre and Newtown and Willowbrook Primary Schools to deliver the ninth iteration of our Holiday Activity and Food Programme for children and young people. Activities will include Archery, Arts and Crafts, Cookery Workshops, Cycling, Climbing, Fun & Games, Forest School, Happy Eating Nutrition Sessions, and a whole lot more.

Christmas Hampers

As an additional bonus to our HAF programme, Exeter City Community Trust will be working with Rediscover Church and Greendale Farm Shop to deliver Christmas Hampers for our HAF participants and some of those across our community who could use a bit of festive cheer. These hampers will include a Christmas meal for the whole family as well as a few winter essentials.

Extra Time Hub / More than a Game Warm Spaces

Working in partnership with Exeter City Football Club and the Supporters’ Trust we continue to make St James Park a welcoming space for all this winter. The hub is open each week in the Grecian centre on both Tuesday’s and Wednesdays from 1000-1200, whilst the new year will see us expand the offer to additional days / hours.

Exeter City Community Housing

Christmas can be a challenging time of the year for many; not least those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Throughout the year, our specialist housing service seeks to help and support vulnerable people to have a new start and be provided with the opportunity to live in their own home and prepare for independent living.
