Last month we sadly lost a much loved member of the Sporting Memories and Exeter City family, Brian Chudley.
Brian was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a few years ago and, shortly after, began attending our own Sporting Memories sessions here at St James Park. We were pleased to hear of the important role that these sessions played in Brian’s later life and how he was able to spend time with like minded friends, reminiscing about his past cycling achievements.
Brian’s Grandson Howard and George will now be completing a challenge taking them through the 86 years of Brian’s life, jumping on the saddle as he would have undoubtedly done at their age. This challenge will see them cycle 60 miles, finishing the last 26 miles on foot, running to the finish.
This incredible challenge is to raise funds for the Sporting Memories group here at Exeter City Community Trust, to help continue the work that played such a pivotal role in Brian’s later life.
If you can help them in their fund raising efforts, please donate at Howard Parker is fundraising for Exeter City Community Trust (justgiving.com)
