Walking Football is ideal for those who would like a gentle re-introduction to physical activity or who want to improve their fitness.
Exeter City Community Trust run weekly sessions, split into ten-minute games so participants can do as much, or as little, as they feel appropriate, at Wonford Sports Centre every Tuesday morning.
Our participants are made to feel welcome, and the groups have developed long-lasting friendships. You can be as competitive as you like, with some players going on to represent Exeter City in international tournaments.
Bob Foale, a regular Walking Football participant, says: “You don’t have to be a natural athlete, like myself! You can be old and knackered like my friend Dave Gambie.
“I strongly encourage you all to come along, have some fun and a good laugh with your mates. Some people say it’s the highlight of their week.
“We’re also trying to get a little bit fitter, maybe lose a couple of pounds whilst we play. Totally recommend.”
